The Best Hair Styles for Working Out

Exercising is no easy feat – between picking out a cute outfit, finding a gym or workout class you actually like, and taking the time out of your day, the last thing you want to worry about is your hair. But, we all know how frustrating it can be to constantly be fixing your hair mid-workout or not having enough time to wash and style your hair before running off to your next adventure.

Thanks to these awesome hairstyles, you will no longer have to worry your hair falling loose mid-workout and styling post-gym will be easier than ever!

Heavy Sweat Workouts

Heavy sweat workouts, such as spin, boxing, and hot yoga can take a real toll on your hair. Finding the perfect way to keep it out of your face and as sweat-free as possible is the key.

Pre-Workout

Start by spraying dry shampoo from roots to ends and combing through. This will help control sweat before you even start your workout! Once you’ve combed your dry shampoo through, pull your hair up in a tight ponytail and then take a second hair elastic and wrap your hair around in a bun to avoid your hair falling loose!

Post-Workout

If you don’t have time for a full shower, dip your hair into cold water and massage the scalp to get rid of any sweat. From here you can either partially dry your hair and pull your hair back in a low bun or use a sea salt spray to add some grit and let it air dry!

Medium Sweat Workouts

With medium sweat workouts, such as barre, running, or light pilates, you’re not sweating as much so you’re able to style your hair post-workout just a little bit easier!

Pre-Workout

Pull your hair back into a tight ponytail to keep the hair out of your face. If you’re prone to little wisps and baby hairs or your ponytail coming lose, opt for a headband and braiding your ponytail!

Post-Workout

Towel off your hair to remove access sweat and use your blow dryer on medium heat to remove any leftover sweat. Once you’re done with the dryer, utilize your trust ‘ol dry shampoo and style as desired.

Light Sweat Workouts

Light sweat workouts are our go-to when we know we don’t have a lot of time shower or style our hair before heading to work or an event.

Pre-Workout

Start with dry shampoo and braid your hair before starting your workout.

Post-Workout

Let your braids out and comb your fingers through the waves to loosen them up. Add in any products you like to use on wavy hair and you’re good to go!
