Start with Dry Brushing
An ancient Indian practice, dry brushing is the process of brushing your skin with a hard thistle brush in circular motions towards your heart. This will remove the dead skin cells that are blocking moisture from penetrating your skin.
Wash with Lukewarm Water
We’ve mentioned it before and we’ll mention it again – always use lukewarm, not hot, water. Hot water dries out the skin leaving the skin feeling tight and dehydrated. If you can’t give up on your hot showers just yet, start by washing your face and rinsing off with lukewarm to cool water afer you’ve taken your regular, hot shower.
Moisturize with Oils
Moisturizing oils are much more beneficial than your typical moisturizer. If you have naturally oily skin, don’t worry! As long as you’re using the correct oils, you won’t experience any breakouts. Oils will help with the rebalancing of the pH levels in your skin and create a protective layer over your skin, trapping in moisture and leaving your skin with a dewy look.
Moisturzing with oils when your skin is still damp and before bed will give you optimal results.
You might not believe us, but the foods you eat have a huge impact on your skin. We get that eating healhy all the time isn’t always possible, but try to focus on foods that promote a healthy glow when making your next meal. These include foods like salmon, eggs, nuts, avacado and food prepared in coconut or extra virgin olive oils.
Create a Homemade Face Mask
Homemade face masks will contain more natural ingredients than those masks purchased at the store. Our favorite homemade face mask that promotes healthy, glowing skin includes only three ingredients!
Mix 1 tablespoon of raw honey, 1 tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil, and a squeeze of lemon together and rub it on the parts of your body that need a little extra glow for 1 minutes. These ingredients will add moisture and brighten your skin. Plus it’s gentle!
