Investing in good hair products can totally change the way you style your hair but with so many options on the market, which ones do you actually need? It’s no surprise we’re a huge fan of dry shampoo, but there are four other hair products that we believe every woman should keep handy.
It’s no secret that hot tools can be extremely damaging to your hair, especially when you’re using them on a regular basis. Each strand of your hair is made up of two layers: the cuticle (outer layer) and the cortex (inner layer). The cortex houses all of the protein and water molecules and when you use heat products on your hair, you are removing this water which dries out your hair and effects the look and feel of the outside of the hair (the cuticle).
A heat protectant will create a barrier between the heat and your hair in order to seal in moisture and reduce frizz. Always apply your heat protectant to damp hair before blow-drying or using other hot tools and brush through so it evenly distributes through your hair.
Sea Salt Spray
Are you a wash and go type of gal but love a little texture and waves? Sea salt spray is going to be your new best friend! Apply to your hair when damp and spray eight inches away, evenly, to reduce build up. Once you spray it in your hair, don’t fuss with it or it’ll get frizzy!
Finishing products are ideal after styling your hair to lock in moisture and give it that shiny look. Finishing products go a long way so remember, less is more! Always use a dime-size of product or less, depending on the length of your hair and rub it in between your palms before applying it to your hair.
Texturizing spray is essentially dry shampoo, sea salt spray, and hairspray mixed into one. Ideal for applying after you curl your hair, texturizing spray will add a little grit and hold to your curls.
Dry shampoo is one of those holy grail products that every woman should have handy at all times. If you’re trying to stretch out the time in between washes, you’re definitely going to want to pick up a can or two of dry shampoo to keep that second-day hair looking fabulous three, four, or even five days after washing!
